We believe Queensway Chapel exists to serve our local community and share God’s love where ever we can. Here are some of the things we are doing:

Family Centre

Queensway Chapel established the Family Centre opposite the Church some 36 years ago to provide a safe, caring environment for local families to explore, learn and grow together. Under the leadership of our manager, Sally Oliver, each week during term time we run Toddlers and Teenie-Weenies; Watch-this-space (various activities such as craft, cooking and Parent-Talk); Stay and Play; Tots-praise. For more details see our Facebook page: Queensway Chapel Family Centre

Open House

Every Tuesday throughout the year our dedicated team provide a three-course meal at very reasonable cost. Open from 10.00am, there is a chance to meet, chat and make new friends, helping to prevent loneliness and social isolation. You are very welcome to come along.

Once a month a small team from the Church visit Brookside Residential Home to lead a simple service. In this way we seek to encourage some of the older folk in our community at a time when they are potentially vulnerable. Together we find strength through our faith in the Lord

Neighbourhood Chaplaincy

This is a new venture for the Church. At team of Chaplains are ready to visit homes in the community to offer friendship and support to those in danger of becoming lonely and isolated. We are able to help with that knotty task of filling in forms, simple practical help such as clearing accumulated rubbish or simply sharing a cup of tea and a chat. For more details, phone our Community Chaplain, David, on 07432 303105

Queensway Chapel Nursery was started in the Church building more than 36 years ago. Since then it has acquired its own premises on Queensway and is now an established Charity in its own right. Links with the Church are still very close as the Trustees are all from Queensway Chapel or other linked Churches, maintaining its Christian foundation. They are a day nursery open from 8am to 6pm for children aged up to 5 years old. For more information, see their website

Camera Club

Queensway Camera Club for the Community

On the second Thursday of the month we run a Camera Club for the Community from 7.30-9.30pm which is open to all interested to improving their photography. There will normally be a couple of talks, at least one practical session as well as real tea and fresh coffee and home made biscuits.
